Shade Matching Guide
The Art of Precision:
Bespoke Bridal Veil Shade Matching
Your veil should never look like an afterthought; it should feel like an extension of your bridal soul.
At Your Bridesmaid Anwesha, we specialize in crafting bespoke bridal veils that blend seamlessly with your outfit. To ensure absolute perfection for your big day, we utilize a designer-grade colour matching process, ensuring your custom wedding veil complements your lehenga or saree perfectly.
Our Professional Shade Matching System
The "Neelam" Telephone Shade Card
We rely on the industry-standard Telephone Shade Card (Neelam) used by India's top couture designers. This ensures we are speaking the exact same colour language as your outfit designer.
- Industry Standard: The universal reference for Indian bridal wear.
- Designer Compatible: Used by top tiers to ensure consistency across fabrics.
- Real World Example: A classic Sabyasachi Red usually corresponds to Shade 25.

How We Match Your Veil
Creating a custom bridal veil requires attention to detail. Here is how we ensure the perfect match:

1. Identifying the Base Shade
If your outfit is a classic colour (e.g., Blood Red), we match it directly using the Neelam Card. Classic Red matches shade 25 for Tulle.
Pro Tip: If your designer provided a specific shade number, please share it with us!
2. Custom & Complex Tones
For custom-dyed fabrics, multi-tonal weaves, or muted pastels, we use a layered approach. We analyze the dominant hue of your embroidery base to select the tulle that will create the most harmonious look.
3. Physical Sampling
Before finalising your custom veil colour, we test the shade on the actual Net/Tulle and the embroidery base. This ensures the colour holds true even when the fabric is layered.
4. Fabric Swatches (Recommended)
For the highest accuracy, we recommend sending us a small fabric snippet or an extra blouse piece. This allows us to fine-tune the match for non-standard shades.
The Nuances of Fabric & Light
- Fabric Reflection: Tulle absorbs dye differently than Silk or Velvet. While an exact molecule-for-molecule match isn't always possible, visual harmony is our guarantee.
- The Contrast Look: Sometimes, a contrast is better than a match. For example, a yellow saree with pink floral accents often looks stunning with a Pink Veil to balance the ensemble.

Viewing Shades in Different Lighting
To assist you in selecting the perfect colour for your bespoke veil, we have captured our shade cards in multiple environments. Please review both to understand how your veil will look from the day ceremony to the evening reception.
1. Natural Sunlight (True Colour)
This represents the truest depth and undertone of the fabric.
2. Indoor Daylight
This gives a realistic idea of how the veil appears during indoor fittings or soft lighting.
